loose your chains

oh yeah, i almost forgot.

are you familiar with sleep paralysis? It happens to everyone, actually, its what your body does when you fall asleep, apparently, so you don't physically act out what you are doing in dreamland. (Or so i've read.) At anyrate, the term sleep-paralysis relates to a particular state where a person's mind wakes up but their body is still asleep, or often in dreams a person suddenly becomes seemingly stiff and unable to move (usually they just can't talk). What happens is that the wakee who can't move usually falls back to sleep (most silly people are scared shitless for some reason, silly humans). At least the people i've talked to or read from have stated as such.

it's happened to me a lot (hence my research on the subject.) when i was younger it happened more often, usually in dreams, but sometimes it would remain when i awoke as well. There were a few times when i was younger that i actually managed to over-ride it, in dreams that is, where even if i had "lead legs" i would at least be able to drag myself until i could shake it off.

The funny thing is, last nite, while almost falling asleep, my body went stiff and unresponsive. But for some reason, i didn't want to fall asleep at that moment (even though my night had been restless) because my mind wasn't thinking about something i wanted to dream about. And i actually managed to physically move and shake off the paralysis, which i hadn't done while waking before. It felt very.....weird. It took a ridiculous amount of physical exertion to just to start it, but as soon as i did it just slid off of me.

the feeling was akin to what i imagine it would feel like to be held down by many hands, only to have ones' self suddenly turn into wet soap and the hands just couldn't grasp you anymore.

Needless to say, i thought it was cool, but i hardly understand the significance (if any). I guess its just part of being me. For all i know, everyone else does it and the fact that im writing about it is probably akin to reading a post about someone who ate breakfast this morning. Oooo.

:) yeah im boredz0rz. i gotta wait on getting a battery before i can actually get the cell up (lametastic) (i say that a lot don't i? how about "rudypootacular" instead?) i'm not gonna take one out of someones car...i'll just wait til i get a job (this week, sometime, i hope.) and then borrow some to buy one. (There aren't any laying around.)

siiigh.

wonder what Pele looks like... (not the futbol player, you nitwittical happenstancing bacon for brains, the hawaiian volcano goddess. apparently, she's one of the few still popping up now and then around her home on Mt. Kilauea, usually fucking with people :D which is my kinda woman...) Unfortunately one of the legends goes that her sister (sea goddess) of whom pele seduced her husband (naughty girl!) finally caught up to her and managed to kill her. Of course, being a goddess she didn't die and she just stayed to live in her volcano. Interesting to note about Sea vs Lava, mirroring natural events. Some hills on that side of the island are (translated) pele's bones, and some of the FX from the volcano are also attributed to her (hair, tears, that kind of thing. you know how people go after reality turns into a legend, some deity's whatnots start raining down from the sky...)

Anyone know a necromancer?

Duuuuude...that paralysis thing totally happened to me, except I had no idea what was going on at the time and started to panic a little.

I fell asleep to the tv on the couch, and then my mind woke up when there was a loud crash on the tv show. I couldnt move one single part of my body, but i could hear things and sense that I was indeed awake. I tried and tried to move something, and I ended up getting almost exhausted. I couldn't speak or even produce a gutteral sound...and my dad was sitting right next to me which was even more frustrating. Eventually I relaxed my body and was able to regain mobility.

It was kinda scary at the time, but now that I know what it's all about I think it's pretty interesting!
