oh ahhhh... yeah. some serious thought should be put into sterling engines + emachineshop for fun things to do. heat and ice are readily available. thats what water is for, to be a coolant/medium for the different temperate parts of the world. but right, sterling engines. Imagine one where you just load up some ice on one side and a candle on the other. You would get such great power out of objects you can find ANYWHERE. and its completely contained, so no exhaust ports or anything either.
its just a heat dipole if you think about it that way, but the poles are oscillating between hot and cold. there's a video for a demo you can build at home from a home made candle and just ambient air temperature, that turns a cd at 120 rpm. :P
